Recently, I booked a new patient appointment with a local eye doctor. When I called, I was greeted by a recording with five options. After choosing the scheduling option, the receptionist booked my visit and mentioned that I would receive an email estimating the cost of the visit.
Later that day, I received two emails. The first asked me to set up a username and password to enter my medical history. Unfortunately, this gave me an error code. The second email asked me to set up another account in different software to view my estimated visit cost. After navigating three pages of legal language, I finally got the cost estimate.
On the day of my appointment, I arrived a few minutes early and approached the front desk. The receptionist silently looked at me until I introduced myself. She checked me in and handed me a clipboard of paperwork. In addition to standard health questions and HIPAA documentation, there was an arbitration agreement to sign. After returning the paperwork, I waited another 40 minutes. At 9:40 am, I was called back for my 9 am appointment. The medical assistant started my treatments and testing, repeating many of the health questions I had just filled out. She even wanted to start prescribing medications before I saw the doctor.
Our Office Aims to Be Different
When you schedule a visit with us, you speak directly to the doctor, allowing you to ask relevant questions and book a time slot that accommodates your needs. This approach often prevents the need for multiple visits. If possible, we complete as much as we can in one visit to save you time and money.
At our office, there are no arbitration agreements, no long wait times, and no need to set up multiple emails and passwords. You simply arrive at your appointment time, are greeted by the doctor, and avoid unnecessary screenings and repeated explanations. We treat you like a valuable person, valuing your time and your input on your treatment plan.
When you call, you won’t be directed through a phone tree. If you need to speak to the doctor, you can. There’s no need to leave a message with a nurse and wait for a callback. We treat you the way we want to be treated.
